SPCA KK Cattery Photos
They were all friendly and some of them were terrific models. I don't think the new photos are up yet but for more information about adopting cats or dogs from SPCA Kota Kinabalu click here. Please help our furry friends and adopt one :)

SPCA KK Fundraiser at Sullys Bar 20th May 2011
The event started off with a welcome speech by the President of SPCA KK followed by performance auctions from David Nott, Jackie Miao, Roger Wang and even Amir Yussof himself. Other auctions included an Ipad 1, Wine, Bags, Art Pieces and a Boat Charter. There was even a sketch artist to draw caricatures.
It was a successful event and it was all thanks to the many people who came to show their support and contributed to the cause. It is much appreciated by our furry friends. I will soon post more photos on Facebook.

Power to the People Party 2011
The event was held last Friday at the Tanjung Aru first beach and was focused on the environment and "Sustainability" as its theme. It showcased organic foods, renewable energy and a chance for the public to donate to Mercy Malaysia Japan Earthquake/ Tsunami Relief Fund. The event offered the public a better understanding of on-going work by citizen movements and non-governmental organizations such as the SPCA which were also present.It was a great party and hundreds of people came to show their support. It was 5.30pm when it started. We were there to help out the SPCA booth but I went around and and usual, took lots of photos. I met many friends and I was really surprised to find out that Emma Thompson was there. We took pictures with her as did many other people. My mum, who was carrying the SPCA donation box almost dropped everything in excitement when she saw her.
After sunset, the lights came on the large stage and a few prominent Deejays like DJ Atama Katama started the music and invited the people to dance. Michelle Koh was there as the dance instructor for the crowd. It was a great party and I had a great time there :)

SPCA KK Volunteer Work
On the 26th of February, our pengajian moral group had agreed to do community service in a temporary SPCA dog shelter to fulfill the requirements of our assignment. There were other students that were there from UMS too including Ju Ping who goes there regularly to volunteer help.
It was a great experience helping out at the shelter. The usual routine was completed in a much shorter time because of the extra help.
The shelter does not have a permanent staff to run the shelter so it has to rely on volunteer help to keep going. Hopefully, more individuals can step forward and volunteer their help for SPCA KK.

SPCA KK Booth Center Point 31st January
Last Sunday, SPCA KK held a booth in Palm Square, Center Point along with KK Reef Watch to raise awareness, recruit members, as well as raise funds.SPCA KK is also on Twitter!
