WASD

Feeling uninspired :( Haven't had much to post recently although there will be one after this about a temporary SPCA animal shelter. Our group in uni volunteered there as part of our mini social work assignment for one of our subjects. More on that on the next post.

Feels Like Old Town

A couple of pictures in old town quite a while back. I haven't been to any outings recently. I got my Canon 430EXII back from repair yesterday and when I went home and checked it, the main problem is fixed but I realized that the AF-assist lamp stopped working. I sent it back to the shop today and they apologized and now I have to wait while they fix it.

Yes, Chef!

Had this shoot with Francis a couple of days before he went back to KL. I went back to the repair shop in city mall today not for my lens but for the flash. There is something wrong with it. It keeps under-exposing shots in E-TTL mode or just not synchronizing properly. I'm not sure and I just need to wait till the guy calls me after he checks it.

Fireworks!

The first day of Chinese New Year didn't disappoint as residents from all over pulled out all the stops and set off incredible amounts of fireworks into the sky. Bernard, Francis and I rushed to the roof to see the hundreds of fireworks that spanned our view of Luyang all the way to Penampang.

There was barely any time to think when we got on the roof. Tripod, Camera, Shoot. The shots were set at 30 seconds each. The first photo is my favourite but the third photo above caught over 30 fireworks. There were actually more but the lens was just not wide enough to capture the entire view.

It was simply breathtaking. I just don't remember ever seeing so many fireworks going off in such spectacular style. It lasted for about 15 minutes before people started to run out of fireworks. Some areas were still going strong but we decided it was time to get back into the house.

Happy Chinese New Year 2011 :)

Last Train

I shot these the same day as the previous post :D Mahira picked the train station as the location for the shoot. Francis was tasked with holding the reflector and Cheryl and Joanna were the models.

I went a little crazy with black and white so yeah :D I thought it looked better than when it was with color. I was also looking to give the photos a sort of vintage look. And thanks to the models for being so awesome :D

Lines & Angles

I had this shoot with my cousin last Monday. It was the first time I could use my DIY Soft Box outdoors. The other people that were present were Joanna, My sister, and Francis (My Lighting assistant :D ) Mahira came a few hours later for a different shoot.

We shot these at the back of the Standard Chartered building. The weather was really good and the one hour we spent there flew by like a breeze. The two shots above are my favourites from the shoot.

Here is a link to my cousin's youtube page

Big thanks to Francis for helping on such short notice :)
(yes he's standing on a stool)

And Happy Chinese New Year!!!
