Happy Chinese New Year!

These Chinese themed photos were taken a couple of days ago for Leonora's portfolio. We shot these in two locations. The first was in La Vintage restaurant and the second one was done in a Chinese temple.

Wedding : Farizah & Shamsul

Happy New Year everyone! I didn't manage to capture any fireworks during the new year so I guess I'll just have to wait till Chinese New Year. Until then, here are some photos from a wedding assignment that Mahira and I were hired for just before Christmas.

I'd like to once again congratulate Farizah & Shamsul on their wedding! This was a very brief photo session after their solemnization. We didnt have much time as the sun was setting and the rain clouds made it even darker. We were happy with the few photos that we got before it started raining. Hope you guys enjoy the photos.

Year Of The Dragon

Ikhwan, Mahira, Brenda, my sister and myself decided to go out for our first photo session in months. We've been very busy with exams and now we finally have the time to go out. We returned to the same rocky hill that Mahira, Nadine and myself went to in a previous post this time with a chinese theme for the coming Chinese New Year. We arrived late and we only had very little time before we started to feel the scorch of the midday sun.

We spent a total of 40 minutes there and there really wasn't enough time to work on every pose in detail. Everything was rushed because we just wanted to get out of the sun as soon as we could. I felt so rusty because of the lack of portrait sessions. Still, I'm glad that we had the opportunity to go out together and credits to my sister for being the model and everyone else for all of the help provided throughout the shoot.

Note: I forgot to mention that the fans were actually red. I just changed them to match the color of the dress :)

Happy New Year!!

Here are some photos of fireworks a few hours ago. These are pretty much the only ones that I had the chance to photograph and they are not the best shots I have ever caught. I celebrated the new year at my Grandmother's house but I couldn't get a clear shot of enough fireworks because they were mostly blocked by other houses, surrounding trees or they were just too far.

These photos are heavily cropped and I apologize for the poor quality. I'm hoping to get better photos during the coming Chinese New Year :)

Happy New Year 2012!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We had an awesome view of the fireworks from the waterfront last night. I didn't bring my tripod along so I had to take the shots hand held.

[Update] Added two more photos :)

Lanterns

This is just another photo I took before Chinese New Year. This was actually in front of the Japanese restaurant, Hana in City Mall. I'm not sure but the writing on the lanterns might be Japanese. :D

Fireworks

The Chinese new year was greeted with hundreds of colorful fireworks sent exploding into the night sky. The spectacular display lasted for quite a while as people from all over the city were using up as much as they could for that very moment, as if competing with each other ;p It really sounded as if it was war.

This is actually my first time capturing fireworks :)

These are some of the fireworks that I captured. Before and after the new year. A couple of the photos have black lines across them because of the power lines that were outside my house. The second photo appears to have a spiralling effect because of the camera shake.

The photos are all taken at 5 seconds shutter on a tripod [except for the third photo which was hand-held with the shutter at BULB] with the aperture at f/14 with my 18-55mm kit lens.

Photos from New Year's Eve

These are some of the many photos that were taken on new year's eve. I heard that the full moon on that night only occurs every 20 years so I took pictures of it.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves that night, talking and catching up with each other :D
