Flaring Intensity

A week ago, Bernard, Ki Choy and I went to a basketball court around my neighborhood. We didn't have any real reason to go there. Since I had my camera with me, I took pictures around the place.

My left ankle seems to be sprained, sort of, because there is no swelling which might indicate that the ligament isn't torn. But it's definitely stretched. It happened mid December January when I was playing soccer on an uneven field. It didn't really hurt that much until a couple of days later, then I realized that there was something wrong with it.

I didn't think it was anything too serious.

I played Futsal [Indoor Soccer] after that and I realized the pain was there but it soon went away, the injury seemed to come back after another game so I stopped playing.

According to a website that I checked out, it's like an eversion injury where the ligaments inside the ankle is damaged. It's not that badly damaged I guess but maybe lightly to moderately.

It sucks not being able to play at the moment. I can't even kick a football outside the house, I can only do stretching exercises and muscle strengthening exercises for my ankle to help the rehabilitation.

Trail To The Moon

I was walking outside my house one evening when I noticed three jets flying across the sky leaving smoke[im not sure what it is so I'll just put smoke] trails.

When one of them was heading in the direction across the moon, I quickly ran back into the house to get my camera and started taking pictures of it.

If only I had a longer zoom lens then I would be able to take a closer shot of it.

Another jet followed the same direction as this one. The third jet went the opposite direction.

Float On

This was shot at The Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort. I was walking around the beach area looking for things to photograph when I spotted this boat.

I set the camera to AV mode and turned on Auto Exposure Bracketing with -2,0,+2 settings. The three shots were merged with Photomatix and then later processed with Adobe Photoshop.

Anamorphic Lens Flare

It's been ages since I wanted to take a photo with this type of flare. People usually try to avoid flares, but in some cases, it adds something extra to the photo.

Since I have absolutely no clue on how to produce this flare naturally, I just created it in post processing.

The plug-in used to create this is called Knoll Light Factory by Digital Anarchy. It's an awesome plug-in. It has loads of other flares to choose from too :D

This is Bernard in the photo which was taken in Starbucks of all places :)

Move Along

It's been another boring day today, nothing really interesting happened. Went to uni, felt sleepy, ate breakfast, finally went home, fell asleep. :S

Lost!

These are some of the other photos that I took in Ikhwan's house last week. It's Monday and I don't have any classes at Uni today so im sitting here at home trying to put together photos that I'm supposed to send to develop.

Oh and Google Adsense rejected my application due to - Unacceptable site content - lol? whatever lah...

Btw If you haven't already heard the song Lost! by Coldplay, you should try and give it a listen. :)

BULLSEYE!

This is Ikhwan, and this photo was taken outside of his house. The actual picture was of him jumping onto a white wall, making it look like he was thrown onto it :D

The edit was incredibly simple, but time consuming. There was a lot of layer masking and the really easy part was making the bullseye itself.

The new semester in uni has just begun and I quickly find myself exhausted again. It's not that we have been given that much work to do, its just that I don't get enough rest.

Today was fun, after class at uni and a little discussion with the committee of our UNITAR photography club, we found ourselves jamming at Ikhwan's house.

After that, we went outside to take pictures around the house, while getting attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes which probably saw us as dinner :S

It got dark very quickly as we were taking photos so Ki Choy and I decided to call it a day and went home.

Yoyo

Okay where should I begin... First of all, I hate to post things in my blog that have barely anything to do about photography, But what happened at YOYO Lintas really wound me up so I'm posting this anyway.

It all started when Ki Choy, My sister, and I decided to buy some buns from another shop and decided to eat it after ordering drinks from YOYO. Seeing that the signs on the wall only showed "No Smoking", "No Spitting", and "Keep Clean". We thought we were free to eat the food that we bought because we were hungry.

As we were eating, the staff were walking up and down staring at us and when we were halfway through eating, one of them suddenly decided we should stop.

Honestly, He She [really looks like a guy] suddenly came to our table and said in a annoyed tone " Hello, tidak boleh makan itu di sini."

Translation: "Hello, you cant eat that here."

She turned around to walk back as we put down our food reluctantly. Then we said " But there isn't any sign that says no outside food allowed "

She spun on the spot to face us again and said in an incredibly rude and provoking tone " Tapi di bawah ada tanda tidak boleh bawa makanan luar".

Translation: "But there is a sign downstairs saying that outside food isn't allowed"

I gave her a disgusted look as she was going back downstairs. We never saw that sign.

Grumbling and annoyed, we put away our food in their plastic bags and left them on the table while discussing loudly about how the staff should be treating customers. The staff members kept peeking from the counter, the stairs, trying to make absolutely sure we don't sneak another bite.

I was too hungry and angry so I walked outside to eat my food while facing the staff from the outside of the window while occasionally giving them the sarcastic "thumbs up". Some of them looked guilty, some didn't bother to look. The rude staff didn't appear again upstairs.

As I continued eating outside, the lady from the little "yoyo bakery" downstairs came upstairs to put up a new sign.

Ki Choy took some of these photos with my camera.

Here I am eating no more than 1.5 metres away [outside] from where I was sitting.

The initial signs

The new signs

Lady from the "yoyo bakery" downstairs. Didn't even bother to look at us. She must have hated the fact that we didn't prefer the Croissants she made.

Buffalo Hard Drive

If you have been following my blog for a while now you might have noticed that I like to make product photos out of things that I buy when I have nothing better to do. In this case, this is a Buffalo 320 GB external Hard Drive that I bought a few days ago.

The hard drive in my computer is running out of space so I need this to continue storing more photos. :p

I actually have no idea how to make ads, I just make them the way I feel that looks good to me. :)
BTW its not an official ad so I hope Buffalo wont mind :p

Photos from New Year's Eve

These are some of the many photos that were taken on new year's eve. I heard that the full moon on that night only occurs every 20 years so I took pictures of it.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves that night, talking and catching up with each other :D

The Day After

My 20th Birthday was yesterday and time couldn't have flown by any faster. My birthday kicked off with futsal in the morning. We had a terrific game and scored some really great goals.

Ki Choy, Ikhwan , Cheryl, and Bernard brought me to the Kbox at the Waterfront after futsal and we Karaoke-d for hours. It was awesome. My jaw muscles are still sore from all the singing XD

We went to Center Point after that where the gang surprised me with a brownie birthday cake and a present. I totally didn't see it coming :p

Just wanna thank you guys for an awesome birthday celebration, I love you guys. xD
