Inside These Lines

These water droplets were shot with my camera kit lens held in a reverse position towards the camera. It allows for a really short minimum focus distance to achieve a sort of macro lens effect.

The only trouble is that you wont get auto focus, you cant adjust the aperture and you need a lot of light if you don't want your pictures to turn out blur.

I'm so bored. I can do so much better than this. I just don't have what I need :(

Stir of Echoes

I shot this the same night as the previous post :D We were just leaving city mall when we spotted the clouds surrounding the moon in a peculiar manner.

It actually formed a rectangular shape around the moon but the clouds were moving so fast, it was already like this by the time I got a shot of it.

It looks like this week is set to be a pretty busy one with assignments due and quizzes to prepare for. I wish I had time for photo shoots.

Grawr! I need futsal >:(

Lightning Storm

If you live around Kota Kinabalu, then you might have noticed yesterday that there was a lot of lightning in the clouds which lasted almost the whole night.

I was in the car when I snapped this photo. It was pretty difficult to do because the car was constantly moving but I kept shooting every time I saw a flash in the clouds and luckily enough I caught this one with some lightning. I did catch more photos with lightning but they were too little or just blurred.

The lightning came around at random intervals of around 3-7 seconds apart. With very little or no thunder most of the time from where I was viewing it.

Shutter settings used were 1/25 at f/2.2 @ ISO 1600

Zuppa di Mare

I noticed that I rarely post photos of food so here's a dish that I ate downtown at a restaurant called Little Italy. This is an Italian seafood soup that comes with garlic bread and the option of adding spaghetti to turn this soup into a full meal.

On another note, I was completely exhausted today as I only got an hour or so of sleep. Add to that the futsal tryouts I went to with Ki Choy last night. We didn't get selected. It didn't come as a real shock because we were so unfit. The last time we played was probably in May. At least it was fun and I managed to score 2 goals :D

Leo Club Installation Night

These are just a couple of photos from the Leo club installation night held at the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort on friday night. It was a joint installation of 7 Leo clubs and the formation of a new Leo club in SMK Lok Yuk.

After the opening ceremony, the dinner was brought out and then came the performances from the schools with dances and music. There was a magic show as well. The dinner was delicious and all of us had a great time.

Monochromatic Music

This was shot in Ikhwan's house. It's too bad that it doesn't work anymore. It's saddens me to say it but the festive holidays are pretty much over and It's time to focus on uni work.

Bear Claw

These were shot the same day as the Heroes post. We just thought it would be fun to take some photos with a bear claw that I bought in Suria.

Heroes

It has been pretty boring recently with the lack of futsal and stuff so I decided to have this shoot with Bernard, revisiting a project I did the last time around click here. The idea of course is based on the television series, Heroes.

Credits to Bernard for coming up with the idea for my pose with the red and blue fire.

oh and Selamat Hari Raya to all muslims :)

Endless Blue

This shot is of a ventilation contraption that was on a roof. I actually wanted a wider shot to include more sky but from where I was standing, it was impossible to get a proper frame for a shot like that.

Watch Ad

This was actually an old idea that we decided to to test a few days ago. The lights used in this shot are just ordinary fluorescent lights. One of which was slightly modified to be shaped like a softbox.

Of course the lights aren't as bright as those used in studios, so I had to compensate by using and exposure of f/4 and ISO 400. This really was just a test so I didn't expect it to turn out as good as it did :)
