In Solidarity with Everyone on Mount Kinabalu

Hello everyone, This coming 12th of June (Friday) will mark 7 days since we were literally shaken by the Kinabalu earthquake. 

Cracko Art Group, following the customs of our ancestors, will end the 7 days mourning period: In spirit of the traditional "momisok" ritual, we will erase the mural at the heritage building to symbolize the end of our 7 day mourn. We will commence at 12 noon, 12th of June 2015. Feel free to join in solidarity. 

By the will of Kinoiringan, on the 40th and also on the 100th day (according to traditional customs), we will produce murals to remember those who have gone before us and to honor the ones who have helped in every possible and impossible way. All murals will be up for 7 days. We don't have much to offer,in terms of money or things, so we offer our talents to this cause.

SharpShooterTeam Outing

I tagged along with my sister and the SharpShooter Team for an outing around KK yesterday. Here are some of the shots which I liked. Special thanks to the SharpShooterTeam for letting me join the shoot. It was real fun :)

SPCA KK Fundraiser at Sullys Bar 20th May 2011

SPCA KK organised a fundraiser at Sullys Bar, KK Times Square on the 20th May 2011. The event was the brainchild of Amir Yussof, the vice president of SPCA KK (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

The event started off with a welcome speech by the President of SPCA KK followed by performance auctions from David Nott, Jackie Miao, Roger Wang and even Amir Yussof himself. Other auctions included an Ipad 1, Wine, Bags, Art Pieces and a Boat Charter. There was even a sketch artist to draw caricatures.

It was a successful event and it was all thanks to the many people who came to show their support and contributed to the cause. It is much appreciated by our furry friends. I will soon post more photos on Facebook.

Power to the People Party 2011

The event was held last Friday at the Tanjung Aru first beach and was focused on the environment and "Sustainability" as its theme. It showcased organic foods, renewable energy and a chance for the public to donate to Mercy Malaysia Japan Earthquake/ Tsunami Relief Fund. The event offered the public a better understanding of on-going work by citizen movements and non-governmental organizations such as the SPCA which were also present.

It was a great party and hundreds of people came to show their support. It was 5.30pm when it started. We were there to help out the SPCA booth but I went around and and usual, took lots of photos. I met many friends and I was really surprised to find out that Emma Thompson was there. We took pictures with her as did many other people. My mum, who was carrying the SPCA donation box almost dropped everything in excitement when she saw her.

After sunset, the lights came on the large stage and a few prominent Deejays like DJ Atama Katama started the music and invited the people to dance. Michelle Koh was there as the dance instructor for the crowd. It was a great party and I had a great time there :)

I will post the rest of the photos in my Facebook soon. I just need more time to make sure I haven't missed any good ones and I will also post my favourite photos in the next post :p
