The last couple of nights have been very cold, which is probably what caused the moon to exhibit an optical phenomenon known as the Corona.
Here's the definition from Wikipedia:
In meteorology, a corona is produced by the diffraction of light from either the Sun or the Moon by individual small water droplets (and sometimes tiny ice crystals) of a cloud or on a foggy glass surface. The corona consists of small number of concentric colored rings around the celestial object and a central bright aureole. The angular size of the corona depends on the diameters of the cloud droplets - small droplets produce large coronae.
For the same reason, the corona is clearest when the size of the droplets is most uniform. Coronae differ from halos in that the latter are formed by refraction (rather than diffraction) from comparatively large rather than small ice crystals. Reddish colors always occupy the outer part of a corona's ring. (This is an atmospheric Airy disc.)
This photo is a composite of three separate exposures to display a wider dynamic range as the Corona surrounding the moon was a little too bright to capture enough highlight detail in a single shot.
It's one month to Christmas so here are some photos of what went up today
Bernard, Carmen, Michelle and myself got together last week to bake for a surprise party Bernard wanted to throw for his girlfriend Mei Jun.
Dramatic cloud formation surrounding the moon during twilight. Shot these yesterday.
Some shots of the moon during twilight. It's exam week so I have have
sort of quarantined myself at home to study :p I have my first paper tomorrow and my next paper will be on Friday. It will be holiday after that but for now, I gotta continue studying.
This was an idea I came up with quite a while back. It's finally complete :D
Here are some nice cloud photos that I took recently. I haven't gone on any photo shoots as well so there isn't much to update. My internet is busted and I'm posting this from starbucks :/

Took some time to watch the sunset yesterday :)

These are my favourite photos during sunset from the Power to the People Party at the Tanjung Aru First Beach. There were actually more people in the first photo but I got rid of them in Photoshop :D
Exams are coming soon :O I have two papers on the same day and my last exam paper is a week after that *sigh*

Haven't been doing too much lately. These photos were from an outing with Mahira quite a while back.

Shot these one evening last month.

This is a remake of the idea that I had before. I never got the chance to post that one up before it was stolen so this is the new one. I think this version has better color than the old one and just like the previous one, my sister is the model :D
There are flaws in the photo, but I really wanted to finish it quickly so I didn't get to notice the finer details. :p
The idea for this edit was really simple. All I needed was to take a photo of a lollipop and a photo of my sister and put them together in photoshop. :p shadow was added for more realism.
Ive been waiting for ages to post this up and it should be the last post this year. It's been a crazy year, filled with ups and downs. Hopefully next year will be better for those who had a bad one and an even better one for those who had a great one.

This was taken in a Japanese Restaurant in City Mall with the Nikon Coolpix S210. I was trying to make the sushi train look like a real train. hahaha. I used the Alien Skin: Bokeh plug-in for adobe photoshop to blur the background.
I just got back home. There's so many things to do tomorrow; I gotta pay my semester fee which I completely forgot about, pass up my assignment, get a haircut, and get ready for the Unitar Annual Dinner which was themed:"Hollywood Red Carpet" coming up this Saturday.
And right after the annual dinner, im switching to Study Mode. It feels so dangerous going to class totally unable to focus.
Well not all classes just two...
okay maybe just one...
DOH!

I've been browsing around photography websites, blogs, and flickr displaying photos of weddings or portraits and the one thing that I cant fully understand is how professionals do color treatments to give their photos a special kind of color to add mood to the scene. Its the kind of thing that I like to add to my photos.
I have my own way of creating it but I cant seem to get it perfect for other types of scenes. Maybe someday I'll figure it out.
I took this self-portrait last year with the Canon EOS 1000D. The light was from a window, taken at around 9am.

These are somewhat the left over photos from the Shoot in Sutera Magellan. They were cross processed with the Agfa® Optima filter from the Alien Skin: Exposure Plug-In for Adobe Photoshop. This is a Plug-in that gives digital photographs the look and feel of film.
I have used this filter on occasion but only very slightly. In these photos, I decided to give them the complete film look. Im not sure if I got it totally right, but it looks like film to me :p I think I should play around with this Plug-In more because it also allows you to customise your signature look and save it as a one-click effect.

These are the photos I took with the Nikon D200. I used a Nikon DX VR 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 lens for these.
You don't always have to use a wide angle lens to shoot the sky. You can also try longer focal lengths and still get great results :)
